I have a Masters Degree in Social Work and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am also credentialed as a Certified Clinical Addictions Specialist. I am credentialed as a Certified Clinical Supervisor by the NC Professional Substance Abuse Certification Board. I provide supervision for substance abuse counselors who are working toward certification. As a CCS with an LCSW, I supervise people who are completing both the LCSW and CCAS or CSAC credentials. This allows me to provide both substance abuse and Clinical Social Work supervision.

I entered the counseling field after recovering from my own struggles with substance abuse and all that goes along with it, including the emotional struggles. It was this that made me return to school and complete a graduate degree and credentials to work with others who have similar difficulties. However, I did not enter the field until I felt I had thoroughly worked through some key issues of my own

I believe that all of us have the ability to improve the way we live and to feel secure. Clients deserve a chance and my goal is to do everything I can do to give them that chance. I use motivational techniques to help clients attain goals.

My interest in working with DWI offenders is a result of being arrested for DUI/DWI on more than one occasion. During my last arrest in 1986, I somehow knew it would be my last arrest for anything. I felt that soon I would learn the answer to preventing more DWIs and other types of arrests in my life. Now I work to assist other people who are in a similar situation.
